Chelsea v Nottingham Forest: Commentary, updates, goals and stats

Chelsea will go in search of their first win in the Premier League since March 4 when they host Nottingham Forest this afternoon.

It has been a miserable few weeks for the West London club, culminating in the sacking of head coach Liam Rosenior.

Calum McFarlane took over on an interim basis and helped lift some of the gloom by guiding them into the FA Cup final with a win over Leeds at Wembley last weekend.

Chelsea’s hopes of qualifying for next season’s Champions League are slim but they will hope to play in European competition in some form.

To do that they would love to pick up three points against a Forest side bang in form.

Vitor Pereira’s men are unbeaten in nine in all competitions and edged ahead of Aston Villa in their Europa League semi-final thanks to Chris Wood’s penalty in the first leg on Thursday night.

Forest remain in relegation trouble but are the form horse in the race.
