Chargers Worked Out 7 Players

The Los Angeles Chargers opened Week 8 with a dominant 37-10 victory over the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday night, though the win came at a cost.

Injuries continued to pile up for Los Angeles throughout the contest, forcing the team to address depth concerns immediately.

Despite sitting at 5-3 and delivering their most complete performance since a three-game winning streak to start the season, the Chargers moved quickly to bolster their roster.

The front office brought in seven defensive players for workouts the following day, signaling urgency to reinforce a unit that has weathered significant attrition.

“Chargers worked out Lewis Cine, Raekwon Davis, Christopher Hinton, Marcus Maye, Kyle Peko, Marcus Williams, Daryl Worley,” KPRC2’s Aaron Wilson shared on Friday.

The group included a mix of veterans and familiar faces seeking opportunities.

Among them were cornerback Daryl Worley, an experienced defensive back with nearly 100 career NFL games, and defensive back Lewis Cine, a former first-round pick by Minnesota in 2022 still searching for consistent playing time after injuries limited his early career.

Defensive lineman Raekwon Davis, released by Indianapolis in March after a brief stint in their rotation, remains a capable nose tackle at 6-foot-7 and 325 pounds.

Kyle Peko, a journeyman most recently with the Lions, spent late 2024 on injured reserve after showing flashes with multiple quarterback pressures.

Christopher Hinton, an undrafted defensive tackle out of Michigan, spent time with the Chargers before being waived in August during roster cuts.

The safety position drew particular attention with Marcus Maye and Marcus Williams both participating in workouts.

Maye joined Los Angeles late in 2024 but landed on injured reserve following an ankle injury.

Williams, a proven veteran formerly with the Ravens and Saints, remains one of the more accomplished free agents still available.

Los Angeles will need to decide quickly which additions make sense as they prepare for upcoming matchups while managing an injury-depleted roster.
