The Arizona Cardinals are exercising caution with their top wide receiver as training camp moves forward.
Marvin Harrison Jr., the No. 4 overall pick from the 2024 NFL Draft, was held out of a recent practice.
“Arizona Cardinals coach Jonathan Gannon says WR Marvin Harrison Jr will miss practice with knee soreness. JG says it’s precautionary and not serious,” Bo Brack of PHNX Sports wrote on X.

Harrison wasn’t the only player sidelined. Offensive linemen Valentin Senn and Jake Curhan also missed the session as Arizona manages minor health issues during camp.
The timing works in Harrison’s favor. The Cardinals held a lighter practice following a day off, meaning he avoided missing significant work.
Arizona has one more session before its Red & White event, which serves as the training camp highlight for fans.
Harrison enters his second NFL season with expectations of taking a major step forward. He’s been among the standout performers throughout camp and is working to strengthen his connection with quarterback Kyler Murray.
His first season showed promise with 885 receiving yards and eight touchdowns.
Durability has rarely been an issue for the former Ohio State star, who never missed a college game.
His NFL track record was solid despite suffering a concussion in Week 6 against the Green Bay Packers last season.
He returned the following week and appeared on one other injury report with a quadriceps concern.
The Cardinals understand Harrison’s importance to their offensive plans.
Taking a careful approach should ensure he remains healthy for what they hope will be a breakout campaign.
