Cardinals Could Make Big Move With Kyler Murray In 2026

The Arizona Cardinals have been one of the most interesting teams in the NFL since Kyler Murray came to town.

Murray came into the league as a fantastic prospect, someone with a lot of mobility and potential as a passer, and he certainly demonstrated that when he got to the pros.

After seeing him during his rookie and sophomore seasons, people believed that Murray would be the Cardinals’ quarterback of the future.

The front office thought the same thing, signing him to a massive contract, but things haven’t panned out quite like they expected.

The Cardinals have only made the playoffs once during his time as a starter, which was also their only season with a record over .500 during this time.

With that being said, there are some growing concerns with Murray’s place on the team moving forward, which analyst John Middlekauff recently pointed to on his podcast.

“I think there’s a pretty good chance that Kyler Murray is playing somewhere else in 2026,” Middlekauff said.

In Middlekauff’s eyes, if Murray doesn’t put together a strong enough season to lead the Cardinals to the playoffs, the team could look in another direction in 2026 and beyond.

The front office and coaching staff have made some moves to help him out, such as drafting Marvin Harrison Jr. with an early pick in the 2024 draft, but if Murray doesn’t bring things together soon, it could be bad news for his future with the organization.

Arizona has its hands full in the NFC West, so it won’t be easy, but this is shaping up to perhaps be the most imperative season in Murray’s career.
