The NFL is about to welcome the next Manning.
However, he’s not even a lock to come out of college next season.
Arch Manning is just entering his first full year as a starter in Texas, and he shouldn’t be in a rush to make a decision, not even if he’s the No. 1 pick.
Of course, that could all change depending on the circumstances.
If you were to ask fellow former No. 1 pick Cam Newton, he should only consider entering the NFL if it’s to play for his hometown New Orleans Saints.
“The only reason that I feel that Arch Manning will go to the NFL this season is if it’s for the New Orleans Saints,” Newton said.

Talking on his 4th&1 podcast, the former MVP said that Manning should stay in college for another year, even if he dominates for the rest of the season, unless the Saints are in a position to get him.
The Saints could well be in a position to get him, though.
They’re projected to be among the worst teams in the league this season, and plenty of that has to do with their quarterback battle.
Neither Spencer Rattler nor Tyler Shough might be the type of player they need right now, and Manning could be the savior of the once-contending franchise.
Heading back home and leading the team back to contention would certainly be the type of Hollywood-like storyline the fans love so much.
Also, the Mannings have a history of nitpicking their destinations and using their leverage in the NFL Draft, so Newton might be onto something with this statement.
Whether he’ll follow his advice remains to be seen.
