Brentford may look elsewhere after Ipswich reject Hutchinson bid

Brentford could move on to other targets after seeing a £35million bid for winger Omari Hutchinson rejected by Ipswich.

The Bees made an approach for the 21-year-old with uncertainty still surrounding the future of Bryan Mbeumo, even though a potential move to Manchester United appears no nearer completion.

But their offer, although meeting the release clause following Ipswich’s relegation to the Championship, was turned down as it was not cash up front, according to the BBC.

Brentford boss Keith Andrews still reportedly likes the player but there is a reluctance to do business at the terms Ipswich want.

Hutchinson was one of the few players to emerge from the Tractor Boys’ disappointing season with their reputation enhanced. He made 31 league appearances for Ipswich after they made his loan move which covered the 2023-24 campaign permanent for £20m.

And having sold striker Liam Delap to Chelsea for £30m, Ipswich are eager to retain Hutchinson’s services as they attempt to bounce back at the first attempt.
