There weren’t many high-scoring games in Week 1 of the 2025 NFL season, but teams certainly made up for it in Week 2.
Nearly every game in the early slate on Sunday scored 40 or more points, which was good news for fantasy football players and general fans.
With all of this scoring, there were a few games that came down to the wire, including the back-and-forth battle between the New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys.
Russell Wilson turned back the clock and put together a spectacular performance for the Giants, and Dak Prescott and the Cowboys matched that intensity on the other side.
Both teams looked like they had put a cap on things at one point or another, but it was the Cowboys who came away victorious, mainly due to the leg of Brandon Aubrey.
Aubrey finished the game with four made field goals, including one to send the game into overtime and one to win the game in overtime.
Adam Schefter noted that this was the first time in league history that a kicker did this particular feat with no time left on the clock in either instance.
“Brandon Aubrey became the first NFL player ever to convert a game-tying field goal with no time remaining in the fourth quarter and a game-winning field goal with no time remaining in overtime in the same game,” Schefter posted on X.

Some people were out on the Cowboys heading into the year, but, at least in this game, it was hard to deny their offensive performance.
Having a kicker like Aubrey could help them win a lot of games down the stretch, especially since kicking around the league has been frustrating all season.
The Cowboys should have a relatively easy time with the Chicago Bears in Week 3, but they’ll face a real test against the Green Bay Packers in Week 4, giving them a chance to show what they can do against a top-tier defense.
