The Denver Broncos should be considered one of the early winners of the NFL offseason as they addressed several needs on both sides of the ball to improve their chances of earning another playoff berth.
Although the Broncos were onboarding a rookie quarterback in Bo Nix during the 2024 season, he held up well in head coach Sean Payton’s offensive system and looked like a legitimate franchise player.
Nix may not have the same level of arm talent as other star quarterbacks in the league, but he has a poised demeanor in the pocket and the athleticism to extend plays and drives with his legs when he gets into trouble.
Working with a quarterback guru like Payton surely helps, as the coach has been lauded for his ability to get the most out of players at the position.
Heading into his second season, Nix is primed to take another leap forward, which could propel Denver even further into the postseason.
One underrated factor for Nix is the fact that the coaching staff remained intact, which he deemed as a big positive for himself and the team.

Nix dealt with staff changes during his college days, so having the same one in place ensures that he’ll be able to continue developing on the same track.
Stability and continuity are often listed as common characteristics of winning teams, so it’s good to see the Broncos trusting the process and allowing their coaches to do their jobs.
