Bills Defy Odds With ‘Improbable’ Comeback Against Ravens

There were a lot of great matchups scheduled for Week 1 of the 2025 NFL season, but many fans around the league had their eyes on the Sunday Night Football battle between the Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens.

Both of these teams are viewed as juggernauts of the AFC, as it has been the Bills, Ravens, and Kansas City Chiefs as the best teams in the conference over the past several years.

This game was a playoff rematch from last year, and many wondered if the Ravens could find a way to avenge their loss from a season ago.

Games like this don’t always live up to the hype, but the Bills and Ravens certainly made it a fun game for fans to tune into.

Halfway through the fourth quarter, it seemed like the Ravens were going to run away with the game, as they were up 40-25.

To that point, Josh Allen couldn’t keep up with Lamar Jackson, and the Bills’ defense couldn’t get a stop.

Both units poured it on in the final 8:37 of the game, and they found a way to eke out a win, beating the Ravens 41-40.

The NFL’s Next Gen Stats account on X noted that this outcome was statistically improbable, the Bills’ most unlikely win during the Allen era, and the 13th-most of any team over the past 10 years.

Both of these quarterbacks have provided heroics in numerous games throughout the years, and unfortunately for Jackson, Allen was the one who led the unlikely charge at the end of this one.

With any luck, this game is a sign of things to come for both of these franchises, which could potentially meet again in the playoffs.
