Ben Roethlisberger Makes A Big Statement About Aaron Rodgers’ Prime

Despite a tough Super Bowl LIX defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles, Patrick Mahomes continues to cement his place among football’s elite quarterbacks.

The Kansas City Chiefs signal-caller has built an impressive resume in just seven seasons, but not everyone believes he has surpassed certain legends of the game.

During a recent Footbahlin with Ben Roethlisberger podcast livestream, a fan asked Big Ben to choose: current-day Mahomes or prime Rodgers?

Roethlisberger didn’t shy away from the debate, and his pick might spark plenty of reaction across the NFL world.

“Well, I would take Aaron in his prime over Patrick now. I think Aaron Rodgers in his prime was one of the top few to ever do it and so is Patrick Mahomes at his prime. Patrick Mahomes is just like entering out of his prime. I think Patrick Mahomes is going to go down as another arguable GOAT. If we’re talking prime and prime, I’m gonna really have to think hard on that,” Roethlisberger said.

The comparison between these two quarterbacks reveals fascinating contrasts in their career trajectories.

Rodgers needed three seasons as a starter to capture his first Super Bowl title and seven years to claim his first MVP award.

Mahomes has already accumulated three regular-season MVPs and three Super Bowl MVPs in that same seven-year span.

The playoff statistics tell an even more striking story.

Rodgers has appeared in 21 postseason games across what will soon become a 21-year career.

Mahomes has already reached that same total in just seven seasons.

While fans never witnessed the anticipated Rodgers versus Mahomes matchup that many dubbed the potential “State Farm Bowl,” both quarterbacks could still meet in this year’s playoffs.

The production Mahomes has delivered represents historic territory for any quarterback at his age.

If Mahomes maintains his current trajectory, the conversation will shift from whether he can surpass Rodgers to how closely he can approach Tom Brady’s legendary status.
