The Chicago Bears didn’t have the year they were expecting last season after a big offseason that brought in No. 1 pick Caleb Williams at quarterback, fellow top-10 pick Rome Odunze and Keenan Allen at wide receiver, and D’Andre Swift at running back to reinvigorate the offense.
It wasn’t enough, as the Bears still limped to a 5-12 season and still failed to produce consistent production on offense, which is why the team is meeting with another intriguing wide receiver prospect this week ahead of the draft.
According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, Washington State wide receiver Kyle Williams is scheduled to visit the Bears this week, along with the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks.

Williams had a big year at WSU last season with career highs across the board, including 70 catches for 1,198 yards and 14 touchdowns as a fifth-year senior.
He is currently projected in most mocks as a second or third-day pick as a potential developmental slot receiver at the next level.
Chicago signed Olamide Zaccheaus this offseason to serve as the No. 3 receiver alongside Odunze and D.J. Moore, but having more depth is always welcome, especially after losing Allen in free agency.
Odunze had his ups and downs as a rookie and will be expected to take a step forward in his sophomore campaign, and while a mid-round selection of Williams would go a long way to improving the WR depth on this roster, none of it would matter if the team didn’t beef up the offensive line this offseason.
It did just that in order to make sure Caleb Williams doesn’t get sacked 68 times again, but drafting a fellow Williams wouldn’t hurt, either.
