Analyst Urges Packers To Run Offense Through Key Player

For casual NFL fans, there are a few key statistics that matter and are closely monitored.

Fantasy football players and ‘normal’ fans are used to looking at total passing yards, completion percentage, touchdown rate, etc.

These stats can be useful when examining how quarterbacks are performing, but there are numerous advanced analytics available that can help analysis reach another level.

Green Bay Packers star Jordan Love, for instance, is the league leader in EPA per play through five weeks, a statistic that showcases how a quarterback performs in expected situations.

What this means is that Love has not only been exceptionally proficient when throwing the football, but he’s performing far better than the underlying statistics might indicate.

Packers fans were initially worried that Love wouldn’t be the guy, that the Packers made a mistake in signing him to a long-term contract extension, but he seems to be working out thus far.

Only time will tell if he can be an all-time great like Aaron Rodgers or Brett Favre, but if early returns are any indication, Love could be this team’s quarterback for the foreseeable future, should he have the desire to stick around.

In the NFL, having the right quarterback is everything.

It can be the difference between a good and great team, the difference between making the playoffs and going on a Super Bowl run.

Love has embraced being the starter to this point, and if this trend continues and he keeps establishing chemistry with his coaches and pass-catchers, the sky is truly the limit in this offense.
