The Green Bay Packers went from one elite quarterback to another. Not many teams can brag about replacing a Hall of Famer with arguably the greatest pure passer in the history of the game.

After going from Brett Favre to Aaron Rodgers, the bar was always higher for Jordan Love. The expectations were far from realistic, especially for a player who wasn’t that highly touted when he entered the league.

Despite a slow start to his career, Love has lived up to the task since he took over as Green Bay’s starter. Analyst Zach Jacobson recently revealed an encouraging trend with Love in the past three seasons.

Love has a higher completion percentage, more passing yards, fewer interceptions, and a higher passer rating in every season he’s been a starter. He’s even looked like a legitimate NFL MVP candidate at times.

Unfortunately, head coach Matt LaFleur’s play-calling hasn’t done much to help him lately. There are too many inside runs, even though the team hasn’t been able to run the ball at all. Love is also throwing short passes instead of hurling the ball down the field.

Now, with running back Josh Jacobs dealing with a knee injury and a banged-up interior offensive line, LaFleur may not have a choice but to trust Love. The QB has been making better decisions and taking better care of the football, so that should help this team going forward.
