Analyst Compares TE Prospect To George Kittle

This year’s NFL Draft class might not be that impressive at quarterback, but there are still plenty of potential stars all over the field.

That’s why it’s not easy to stand out from the rest of the pack at the tight end position.

However, if you were to ask Greg Cosell, Penn State’s Tyler Warren could certainly be either at the top of the list or close to it.

Talking on the “Ross Tucker Podcast,” Cosell compared him to George Kittle.

He believes that he has all the physical tools to become one of the best tight ends in the league right out of the gate, and while he’s not necessarily explosive, he’s a perennial mismatch all over the field.

The Penn State star has also drawn comparisons to Greg Olsen.

He’s very athletic and has proven to be more than capable of being a big factor as a pass-catcher.

As a former quarterback, he’s got an outstanding understanding of coverages and opposing defenses, and he’s been absolutely deadly against zone defenses.

His high IQ helps him find gaps down the field, and he’s a much more polished route-runner than the average tight end.

Also, he’s only played the position for four years, so even though that means he’s far from a finished product, the fact that there’s still room for growth makes him all the more promising.

Warren is projected to be taken in the first round, and he’s also expected to be a starter right out of the gate.
