The Detroit Lions will have their best defensive player back on the field for the season opener.
Losing Aidan Hutchinson midway through last season was a lethal blow.
There was some hope that he would be able to return from his gruesome injury if the Lions made it to the Super Bowl.
But with his team going home winless in the playoffs, he got some much-needed time to restore his body.
That may have been a blessing in disguise.
Talking to Kay Adams, the Michigan product admitted to feeling back to full strength, and he’s looking forward to taking the field for Week 1:
“Even when I was out there, they were like, ‘Oh, he’s not out there for real. He’s not out there 100%.’ I’m like, yes, I am. I’m okay, guys. We’re good. I’m over it. Even being at OTAs, I haven’t missed a practice since being back. I felt 100%. I think I’m over it. I think people need to see me back in action for them to get over it,” Hutchinson said.

The Lions will be one of the biggest question marks in the league this season.
On the one hand, they still have the same core of incredibly talented players who could lead them to the best record in the NFC.
On the other hand, they lost their top two assistant coaches, and while Dan Campbell is an outstanding motivator, his decision-making has also backfired in crucial moments.
Whatever the case, Hutchinson enters this season with a massive chip on his shoulder and a determination to prove that he’s one of the prime headhunters in the National Football League.
He’s expected to be one of the league leaders in sacks, and it wouldn’t be much of a surprise to see him close out the year as a top-three candidate for Defensive Player of the Year.
Hopefully, this will be the last time he has to miss a big stretch of the season.
