Aaron Rodgers stepped back into the spotlight, breaking his silence on “The Pat McAfee Show” after weeks of speculation about his NFL future.
Among the first revelations was the confirmation of his much-discussed meeting with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
This offseason, reports have circulated that Rodgers visited with the Steelers, but details remained scarce.
“I talked to Mike Tomlin. He’s more than I even thought from afar as the type of person that he is, and I have a lot of respect for what he’s accomplished in the league. Arthur Smith … talk about a guy that doesn’t need to work. Doesn’t need to work. He’s a grinder. We’ve had a friendship for a couple of years now and I like what he’s all about,” Rodgers said, via James Palmer of Underdog.

Rodger’s candid assessment of the head coach and offensive coordinator raised plenty of eyebrows as it suggests a genuine interest in the organization.
Since the Rodgers meeting last month, Tomlin has addressed questions about potential deadlines for a decision.
The coach downplayed any rigid timeline, emphasizing his preference for stability while acknowledging that artificial deadlines rarely accelerate important decisions.
Despite the apparent mutual interest, no deal has materialized as of yet.
Rodgers provided some context for the delay, admitting that personal matters have shifted his focus away from football decisions.
This revelation helps explain the prolonged uncertainty, leaving the Steelers in a challenging position as they continue evaluating their quarterback options heading into the 2025 season.
For now, both sides appear content to let the situation develop.
