Eurozone July retail sales -0.5% vs -0.2% m/m expected

  • Prior +0.3%; revised to +0.6%

That’s a bit of a downer but just be mindful that it comes amid a more positive revision to the June estimate. The breakdown shows that sales for food, drinks, tobacco declined by 1.1% while automotive fuel sales fell by 1.7% on the month. Non-food product sales were seen up just marginally by 0.2%.
