The Minnesota Vikings have welcomed back a fan favorite.
They traded for Adam Thielen, sending draft picks to the Carolina Panthers to reunite with the wide receiver.
The veteran couldn’t hide his excitement, and he took to social media to share a three-word message.
“We’re going home!” Thielen wrote.

Thielen was born and raised in Minnesota, played college football at Minnesota State, and spent the first nine years of his NFL career with the Vikings.
They released him after the 2022 season and he joined the Panthers, but he has worked out with Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy during the past couple of offseasons.
On top of being a fan favorite, Thielen is familiar with head coach Kevin O’Connell’s offensive system, and with Jordan Addison’s three-game suspension and several injuries among their receivers, bringing him home was an easy decision to make.
Thielen ranks third in receptions in Vikings history (534), trailing only Cris Carter and Randy Moss.
Of course, expecting him to be the same Pro Bowl receiver he was in his heyday won’t be realistic or fair.
Then again, it’s not like they need him to be that kind of player.
They just had to find a reliable target to play alongside Justin Jefferson while Addison is suspended.
As for Thielen, he must be thrilled that he likely can finish his career at the place he called home for most of his life.
