Adam Schefter Reveals What He’s Hearing About Vikings, Adam Thielen

The Minnesota Vikings have been very active in the trade market leading up to the 2025 NFL season.

Whether it be trading away fringe roster players for future draft picks or making moves to solidify their quarterback room, they haven’t hesitated to do what they believe needs to be done.

While they’ve made several roster moves to this point, one move hasn’t come to fruition after weeks of rumors circulating.

That move, of course, is to get Adam Thielen back in the fold.

Jordan Addison is slated to miss the first three games of the season, leaving the Vikings in a potentially compromising situation with their WR2.

Adding Thielen back into the mix could help them have stability, not only during those three weeks, but for the entire season.

Adam Schefter recently provided an update to this situation, giving context to what’s going on behind the scenes.

“Vikings and Panthers have tried to work out a trade for Carolina WR Adam Thielen, who would like to return to Minnesota, but the two sides continue to struggle to agree on compensation,” Schefter posted on X.

As Schefter’s report indicated, it seems like both sides are interested in getting a deal done, but they appear to be far apart when it comes to what Thielen is worth in a trade.

The Vikings know what he can do and the value he brings to their team, but it will be interesting to see how much capital they’ll give up to get him back on the roster.

A team like the Vikings that won 14 games last year knows what it takes to win, and it ultimately might take paying up for a bona fide veteran to help J.J. McCarthy run this offense.
