Pat Surtain Uses 2 Words To Describe Broncos Defense

The Denver Broncos turned some heads last season.

Sean Payton found his quarterback, and with Bo Nix at the helm, this team went right back to the playoffs after years of struggles and shortcomings.

Now, with all the hype surrounding Nix ahead of his second season, Patrick Surtain II wants to make sure his side of the field doesn’t go unnoticed.

Talking to Kay Adams on her “Up & Adams” show, the reigning Defensive Player of the Year raved about his unit:

“It’s unreal,” Surtain said. “I think we have the ability to be mentioned in history amongst the greats. You can’t talk about it; you’ve got to be about it. When you have that much talent on the defensive side, the sky’s the limit.”

Led by defensive coordinator Vance Joseph, the Broncos have all the resources they need to be a lockdown defensive team this season and for years to come.

They have the best defensive back in the game, and a rising star like Nik Bonitto is also there to take care of business at the line of scrimmage.

The Broncos play in the toughest and most competitive division in all of football, or so it will be starting next season.

It looks like, for the first time in the Patrick Mahomes era, the AFC West will truly be up for grabs, with the Broncos as a legitimate dark horse to end up on top if they play their cards well.

Stopping the likes of Mahomes, Justin Herbert, and Geno Smith twice a year will be way easier said than done.

But given the way they’ve performed, their personnel, and the killer mindset they’re approaching this season with, it looks like the Broncos will be a team to look out for.
