Aston Villa have signed Nice forward Evann Guessand for reported fee of £30m.
The 24-year-old scored 12 goals and claimed eight assists as Nice finished fourth last season and is Villa’s third signing of the summer.
Unai Emery’s side are understood to have fought off competition from a host of other clubs, including Crystal Palace, for Guessand’s signature.
“This club is special. History, pride, passion, the belief,” he said.
“When I heard they wanted me I didn’t think twice. I am ready to give my all, every game, every minute.”
Villa begin their Premier League campaign with a home clash against Newcastle next weekend.
