European indices rebound. Major indices bounce back after sharp declines last week

On Friday, after the major indices had their worst day since April, we are seeing a partial/full bounce back in shares today.

A snapshot of the closing levels shows:

  • German DAX, +1.41%. On Friday, the index fell -2.66%
  • France’s CAC, +1.14%. On Friday, the index fell -2.91%.
  • UK’s FTSE 100 +0.66%. On Friday, the index fell -0.70%.
  • Spain’s Ibex +1.84%. On Friday the index fell -1.88%
  • Italy’s FTSE MIB +1.89%. On Friday the index fell -2.55%

As London/European traders look for the exits, US indices are also rebounding.

  • Dow industrial average +486.55 points or 1.12% at 44075. On Friday, the index fell -1.23%
  • S&P index up or +1.32% at 6320.14. On Friday, the index fell -1.60%
  • NASDAQ index up 359 points or 1.74% at 21010.76. On Friday the NASDAQ fell -2.34%
