The major US stock indices are opening higher with the NASDAQ index leading the way.
The gains are led by the Microsoft and meta after the earnings yesterday. Meta shares are up close to 11%. Microsoft shares are up 6.70% volatile trading. Shares of Nvidia are up 1.81%.
Looking at the major indices:
- Dow industrial average is lagging with a gain of 0.20%
- S&P index is up 0.75%
- NASDAQ index is up 1.28%
- Russell 2000 is down -0.54%

Apple and Amazon will be released after the close. Apple shares are down -16.63% in 2025. Amazon shares are 5.90%. In comparison, Meta shares are up 33.68% and Microsoft shares are up 28.70%.
Other big-name large cap, Alphabet is up 2.40%, Nvidia is up 35.29%. Tesla is trading down -20.62% in 2025 highlighting the haves and have-nots.
