Eagles Rookie Is Turning Heads In Training Camp

The Philadelphia Eagles did it again.

They rolled the dice on a talented player who slipped in the NFL Draft and may have struck gold.

As reported by Eliot Shorr-Parks on X, rookie linebacker Jihaad Campbell has been impressive in training camp, holding his ground against the best of his teammates.

The Eagles traded up one spot with the Kansas City Chiefs to select Campbell with the No. 31 overall pick.

The Eagles hadn’t drafted a true linebacker in the first round since Jerry Robinson in 1979.

Campbell wasn’t expected to land with the Super Bowl champions, as he was projected to be a top-15 selection for most of the pre-draft process.

Unfortunately, a shoulder injury took a big toll on his draft stock.

He’s ahead of schedule in his recovery, as he’s been on the field despite an initial timeline of mid-August.

He joins one of the most stacked defenses in the game.

Zack Baun, Nakobe Dean and Campbell will be a formidable combination, with coordinator Vic Fangio pulling the strings.

The team continues to build through the draft, and that’s why they have the makings of a dynasty.
