Vic Fangio Urges 1 Eagles Defender To Prove Himself This Season

The Philadelphia Eagles arguably have the most stacked roster in football.

Yet, they provide a prime opportunity for struggling players to resurrect their careers, and they have multiple positional battles.

That’s why cornerback Adoree’ Jackson will have to be at his best to take advantage of his opportunity.

Defensive coordinator Vic Fangio was recently candid about Jackson’s career and chances of playing for the Eagles.

“It’s time to show who he is or who he isn’t. He’s played a good bit of ball, but I think this is the place where he’s got to show who he is and be the player hopefully that people have always thought he could be. I didn’t watch a whole lot of tape on him. (General manager) Howie [Roseman] wanted to sign him, and when Howie wants to sign somebody it doesn’t matter what I say. So we just took him in,” Fangio said, via John Clark of NBC Sports Philadelphia.

Jackson will most likely battle with Kelee Ringo for the left cornerback spot left open when Darius Slay joined the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Tennessee Titans took Jackson in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft, and he played four seasons for them before signing with the New York Giants.

He played in 14 games last season, with 28 combined tackles (18 solo), five passes defended and one forced fumble.

The Eagles have a stacked defense with one of the best coordinators in the game, and that should help Jackson play freely and confidently.

But if that’s not the case, this might be his final opportunity in the NFL.
