Japan Meteorological Agency issues tsunami warnings after Kamchatka earthquake

The earthquake is one that is reverberating through the region with Japan having already issued a tsunami advisory for the Pacific coastline, saying waves could reach heights up to 3.3 feet. The impact of the situation is quickly gathering pace, with commercial flights at Hilo International Airport in Hawaii also being suspended now to support emergency evacuations on the islands.

Going back to Japan, an evacuation advisory was already issued earlier to more than 900,000 people in 133 municipalities along the Japanese coastline, stretching from Hokkaido to Okinawa.
