The Los Angeles Chargers have high expectations heading into the 2025 NFL season.
This will be Jim Harbaugh’s second year as head coach, which is said to be the sweet spot for players to become familiar with a particular system and get into a rhythm.
2024 was a strong season for the Chargers, finishing the year with an 11-6 record, and there’s reason to believe that they will be even better in 2025.
One of those reasons is the team’s offseason additions, which include Omarion Hampton, a running back they selected in the first round.
Hampton is a highly-touted player coming into Los Angeles, a running back that could be a true difference-maker for this organization.
He had a minor setback and embarrassing moment during a team drill, which Dov Kleiman made sure to comment on in a recent post on X.
In this particular drill, Hampton was practicing his pass-protection skills, but wasn’t able to push a dummy out of the way hard enough, causing him to get hit with a foam pad.

In the grand scheme of things, this isn’t necessarily indicative of how he’ll perform in pass-protection during a game, but some fans and analysts saw this as concerning.
Hampton’s coaching staff will continue to work with him heading into the season, hoping he can help protect Justin Herbert when necessary.
His primary goal, of course, is to free up lanes in the passing game by establishing the run, and if he’s able to do that, Herbert could have his best season yet, at least from a statistical standpoint.
