There were times during the 2024 NFL season when the San Francisco 49ers looked like a hospital wing rather than a football team.
They faced devastating injuries on both sides of the ball, making for a season they’d like to forget.
After all, the 49ers were among the Super Bowl favorites heading into the season and finished far below expectations.
Hopes are sky-high again heading into 2025, as the team made some key additions this offseason.
NFL teams can never have enough depth, as the 49ers learned firsthand last season, so they’re stopping at nothing to see who else they can add.

Some of these players have more name recognition than others, mainly due to prior NFL experience, but it remains to be seen what the 49ers have planned for them.
Name recognition alone won’t win a job, of course, as the 49ers can afford to be selective when making their final roster decisions.
They did trade away Deebo Samuel, a key cog of their offensive machine, so there’s at least a possible opening at wide receiver.
This team is all-in on quarterback Brock Purdy, so they’ll add whoever they think can best maximize his chances of taking them all the way.
