The Miami Dolphins made a big move last week.

Moving on from Jalen Ramsey won’t do much to help their winning case, even if they landed a star like Minkah Fitzpatrick in return.

To make things even worse, they also lost a reliable pass-catcher and blocker like Jonnu Smith in the transaction.

Even so, this wasn’t surprising to Asante Samuel Sr.

In a recent rant, the former New England Patriots star put the Dolphins’ organization on blast, starting from the ownership and all the way down to the general manager and the head coach (via FinsXtra):

“The Dolphins had no reason to trade Jalen Ramsey other than they’re sensitive—there’s no leadership in the Dolphins organization,” Samuel Sr. said. “Mike McDaniel is a pushover. Chris Grier, the general manager, he has no backbone. These guys over here, the Miami Dolphins, they are running this team like a little league team. No one can stand up to the players. They are terrified of their own players and they have no control over their players.”

Samuel didn’t get into specifics or details behind his reasoning.

Nevertheless, Ramsey is known for his hot temper and for telling it as it is, and he’s a well-liked and respected veteran not only in the Dolphins locker room but all over the league.

The Dolphins claimed that they needed to get Ramsey’s steep salary off their books, but perhaps there’s more to that.

Whatever the case, this will be a crucial campaign in South Beach.

Mike McDaniel has yet to lead the team to a single playoff win, and that’s despite making big strides and putting together one of the most electric offenses we’ve seen in years.

The team has made big moves to sit atop the AFC East Division, yet they’ve fallen short down the stretch every single year.

And if they can’t get over the hump this season, it wouldn’t be much of a surprise to see multiple veterans on their way out.
