The Pittsburgh Steelers enter this season as one of the most intriguing teams in the NFL.
Adding Aaron Rodgers might move the needle and get them over the hump in the playoffs, but it also could spell disaster.
According to former NFL general manager Mike Tannenbaum, it will be the latter.
“I think Aaron Rodgers is gonna be irrelevant by Thanksgiving. … A non-playoff team, a 42-year-old quarterback who’s a legend that’s going off into the sunset,” Tannenbaum said on “Get Up,” via Awful Announcing.

Tannenbaum has a valid point when he talks about Rodgers’ age, and he didn’t look like a former NFL MVP in his lone healthy season with the New York Jets.
Then again, no one has looked good with the Jets in decades.
The franchise has been utterly dysfunctional, and not even patching up the roster with high-end players was enough to end their long playoff drought.
Granted, the Steelers’ roster isn’t necessarily better, but Rodgers will at least play for a proven head coach in Mike Tomlin.
The Steelers’ defense should continue to be among the best in the league, and Tomlin knows how to scrape his way into ugly and unexpected wins.
On the negative side, there are major doubts about coordinator Arthur Smith’s offense, and while Rodgers will likely be an upgrade over Kenny Pickett, Mason Rudolph, Justin Fields and Russell Wilson, they may not have enough skill-position talent.
More than that, the offensive line has been a concern for years.
