Trevor Etienne Has Honest Admission About Playing His Brother In Week 1

Having one son make it to the NFL is tough, so the chances of getting two of them to be professional football players and play in the greatest league on Earth are pretty close to zero.

That’s why the Etienne family must be thrilled and very proud right now.

The Carolina Panthers took Trevor Etienne in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, joining his brother Travis in the pros.

Fortunately for their mother, Donnetta Etienne, it won’t be long before they play one another.

The Panthers will kick off the season against the Jacksonville Jaguars, and when asked about it, the young running back admitted to being quite excited for this unique moment:

“As soon as we found out the big news, we already were excited about playing each other [Travis Etienne] this year,” Etienne shared. “And then come to find out that it will be Week 1. It’s even more exciting, and we all can’t wait.”

Trevor also claimed that his mother has already gone to great lengths to be ready for Week 1.

She reportedly reached out to John Brown, the father of WRs Equanimeous and Amon-Ra St. Brown.

Mr. Brown donned a split jersey when Amon-Ra’s Detroit Lions squared off with Equanimeous’ Chicago Bears, and Mrs. Etienne is looking forward to rocking the same outfit.

This will be one of the coolest storylines to follow in Week 1, and while they won’t be the first pair of brothers to play against one another, it’s always nice to see this kind of thing.
