Dolphins Sign Former Cardinals Defender

The Miami Dolphins keep bolstering their defensive front.

Clearly, bulking up their DT room was one of their point of emphasis in the offseason.

Per their own report, they’re signing veteran defensive tackle Ben Stille.

This will be his second stint with the organization, as he spent some time on the practice squad after going undrafted out of Nebraska back in 2022.

Stille even made his way to the field when he played for the Dolphins before the Cleveland Browns snatched him right off the practice squad.

He went on to play for the Arizona Cardinals and also had a short stint with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Cardinals signed him to a futures contract in January, but they released him in late May.

Throughout the course of his career, he’s logged 17 total tackles, three quarterback hits, two sacks, and one tackle for loss.

He’s made 18 appearances and one start so far.

Now, he will join quite a stacked defensive tackle room.

They already had Zach Sieler and Benito Jones, and then they drafted Kenneth Grant, Jordan Phillips, and Zeek Biggers.

The Dolphins also signed Alex Huntley as an undrafted free agent and claimed Matthew Butler off waivers.

That speaks volumes about how little confidence they might have in this group ahead of a crucial season.

Stille isn’t the biggest or most athletic defensive tackle in the game, but he’s a solid run-stopper, and with Calais Campbell not in the picture, he might even make his way to the 53-man roster.
