The Los Angeles Rams have a new star receiver.
While some may be sleeping on Davante Adams after a somewhat down season, he’s still one of the prime wideouts in the NFL.
According to Rams offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur, Adams isn’t like the average 32-year-old.
“You know the guys that are just a little bit different when the ball’s in the air, and how they contort their body and just go up and get it like basketball players,” LaFleur said. “[Davante is] north of 30, but the way he’s out there, it doesn’t look like it. He’s got a lot of juice in the tank, and it’s been fun to watch.”
The Rams gave him a two-year deal worth $44 million, including $26 million guaranteed.
The six-time Pro Bowler spent time with the Las Vegas Raiders and New York Jets last season.
Despite subpar offensive situations, he finished the season with 85 receptions for 1,063 yards and eight touchdowns in 14 games.
But with Aaron Rodgers no longer in town, the Jets chose to release Adams to save money against the salary cap.
He now joins a team with surging star Puka Nacua, who’s coming off 79 receptions for 990 yards and three touchdowns in 11 games last season.
The Rams will be a contender to win the NFC.
They have one of the best head coaches in the game in Sean McVay, and quarterback Matthew Stafford is still a force to be reckoned with.
With Nacua, Adams and Tutu Atwell at wide receiver, Tyler Higbee at tight end, and Kyren Williams at running back, the Rams should be just fine on offense in 2025, even after parting with Cooper Kupp.
