Colts Coach Sends Emotional Message To Team About Jim Irsay

It’s been a tough couple of days for the Indianapolis Colts organization.

Their beloved owner, Jim Irsay, passed away last week.

Multiple former and current players and colleagues have mourned his loss and extended their condolences to his family and friends.

However, Reggie Wayne may have had the most emotive farewell.

During a press conference, the Colts legend and current wide receivers coach broke down in tears when talking about Irsay.

“I told the [wide receivers], a lot of y’all don’t really know him. He would’ve done anything for anybody. He would’ve given the clothes off his back,” Wayne said, via Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team.

Irsay was part of the organization for four decades, including 28 years as the owner after the passing of his father Robert Irsay.

Wayne spent his entire 14-year NFL career with the Colts, establishing himself as one of the greatest players in franchise history and creating a prolific connection with quarterback Peyton Manning.

Wayne has been a pivotal member of the community since he retired, and Jim Irsay’s impact on his life had plenty to do with that.

No team needs any additional motivation to be at its best and leave it all on the field week in and week out during the NFL season.

Then again, the 2025 campaign will clearly mean a lot more for this organization.

Jim Irsay faced multiple controversies throughout his tenure as owner, mostly related to his struggles off the field.

But he was known as a loving and caring owner who always went the extra mile for his players and employees.
