Scientists in South Africa have found the world’s oldest identified lively termite mounds, which have been occupied for tens of hundreds of years.

“Latest radiocarbon courting has revealed that these mounds are far older than any beforehand identified, with some courting way back to 34,000 years — that is older than the long-lasting cave work in Europe and even older than the Final Glacial Most, when huge ice sheets lined a lot of the northern hemisphere,” Michele Francis, the lead creator of the research printed in Might within the journal Science of the Total Environment, mentioned in a statement.
