Economic calendar Asia Thursday, May 22, 2025 – May preliminary PMIs from Australia, Japan

With all the concern over the negative impact of on-off-on-off- (where are we now?) tariffs the PMIs should, if such concerns are valid, begin to reflect in the flash PMIs due today. We get readings from Australia and Japan.

As a side note, coming up into Europe time is speech from Reserve Bank of Australia Deputy Governor Andrew Hauser

  • 6.30pm Sydney time, which is 0830 GMT, 0430 US Eastern time
  • his topic is “Open the Door and See the Mountain: Reflections from a Recent Trip to China “

The times in the left-most column are GMT.

The numbers in the right-most column are the ‘prior’ (previous month/quarter as the case may be) result. The number in the column next to that, where there is a number, is the consensus median expected.
