The UK is now offering up its spin on the deal:
- Aluminum and steel tariffs reduced to zero
- US deal gives unprecedented access for British farmers to US market
- Will remove UK tariffs of US ethanol
- UK has market access on beef with a tariff-free quota of 13,000 metric tonnes
- UK and US have agreed to work on a digital trade deal that will strip back paperwork for British firms trying to export to the US
- Digital services tax remains unchanged as part of the deal
- Will work on remaining sectors such as pharma and remaining reciprocal tariffs
This is an upbeat take but the FTSE is at the lows of the day and GBP has faded.
