The 2025 NFL Draft has officially concluded, an event that was met with a lot of surprises and interesting picks.
One of the most significant storylines before, during, and now, after the draft, is about Shedeur Sanders’ draft position and landing spot.
Sanders was expected to be a top-10 pick, at least according to what people were saying a few months ago, but teams had other ideas.
Fans and analysts had one perception of him, which hyped his draft stock, but scouts and team leaders around the league didn’t think he was worthy of an early-round grade.
Some analysts, namely, Mel Kiper Jr. from ESPN, were frustrated with how teams handled Sanders throughout the process, even indicating that he has a better read on quarterback prospects than some teams do.
This didn’t sit well with Colin Cowherd, who made a point to talk about this situation in a recent segment of his show.

In Cowherd’s mind, teams don’t necessarily struggle to evaluate quarterbacks, but it’s nearly impossible for them to predict how a player will perform when they get to the NFL.
Scouts and team executives spend years studying prospects and figuring out their readiness for the league, and there are still busts every year.
Take a player like JaMarcus Russell, for instance, who was seemingly a can’t-miss prospect based on what he did in college, but only played three seasons in the NFL, regarded as one of the biggest busts in league history.
It will be interesting to see if this narrative shifts moving forward, especially after all the conversation revolving around Shedeur Sanders.
