Analyst Reveals Encouraging Injury Update About Dre Greenlaw

The Denver Broncos were dealt a blow when newcomer Dre Greenlaw sustained a quadriceps muscle strain while working out this offseason.

However, it seems like the injury isn’t as serious as initially thought.

Some reports stated that Greenlaw would miss a big part of the 2025 NFL season because of the injury.

However, Chris Tomasson of the Denver Gazette is reporting that the initial timeline was “way off base,” and he could be available for the start of training camp.

“The Broncos began offseason drills last Monday. The source said no surgery is planned for Greenlaw, it is ‘rehab only’ for his injury. And that he is expected without question to be ready for the start of training camp in late July,” Tomasson wrote.

The Broncos signed the veteran after six seasons with the San Francisco 49ers.

He sustained a torn Achilles tendon in their Super Bowl loss in February 2024 and had to wait until December to make his long-awaited, and eventually short-lived, return to the field.

He made two appearances for the Niners before missing the rest of last season with a calf injury.

That kind of injury history raises some concerns about his durability and availability, and this will be a story to watch closely as training camp approaches.

Nevertheless, with the Broncos not selecting a linebacker at any point of the 2025 NFL Draft, they might feel comfortable with Greenlaw and their depth at the position.

They signed Karene Reid out of Utah and J.B. Brown from Kansas as undrafted free agents, but barring a turn of events, they might not make the roster.
