Safety Prospect Sends Message To Teams Ahead Of NFL Draft

The 2025 NFL Draft is just around the corner, and with it, the league is set to welcome a plethora of young talent.

Of course, positional value matters, and that’s why sometimes, the best players overall aren’t the players who are taken first.

That might be the case with South Carolina safety Nick Emmanwori, who might have to wait until the end of the first round to hear his name being called.

With that in mind, Emmanwori sent a big message about his future in the league (via NFL):

“My style of play is, I would say, unique,” Emmanwori said. “When I was in college, I just prided myself on being able to play every position. I’m just real versatile, and I’m big enough to come off the edge, fast enough to guard your slot receiver, and physical enough to tackle a running back. The NFL draft is a moment I’ve been waiting for my whole life.”

Emmanwori is a physical specimen.

Standing at 6-foot-3 and 220 pounds, some might mistake him for a linebacker, and he has the athleticism, physicality, and strength to play both at linebacker and safety.

He’s quicker than the average player his size, and he’s been one of the most notorious risers in big boards over the past month or so.

He was initially projected to be a second-round selection, but now some have him going as high as No. 27 to the Baltimore Ravens.

On the downside, he has a tendency to grab his opposition once he loses his ground, and that often leads to avoidable penalties.

Safeties don’t usually get as much love as cornerbacks, and that often causes them to slip in the first round or even further.

Then again, positional value aside, Emmanwori projects to be a versatile and physical stopper.

He could be a prime addition to any team looking for a hungry and strong defensive player with a killer mindset.
