Geno Smith Sends A Clear Message About Pete Carroll

One of Pete Carroll’s first moves as head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders was to bring in an old friend to solve a big problem, playing a part in the decision to trade for quarterback Geno Smith.

Smith recently had a clear message about Carroll, who was his head coach with the Seattle Seahawks until last season.

I’ll run through a wall for him … and I’ll do the same for my teammates,” Smith said, via Paul Gutierrez.

Smith signed a two-year, $75 million extension following the trade and certainly is familiar with Carroll, so Raiders fans hopefully will have a much more exciting offense to watch in 2025.

Las Vegas has multiple picks in the 2025 NFL Draft, and a major area of need is in the skill positions.

Even though adding Smith and Carroll into the mix has raised excitement and expectations going forward, the depth chart doesn’t lie, and it has Jakobi Meyers as the No. 1 wide receiver and Raheem Mostert as the starting running back.

After landing budding superstar tight end Brock Bowers in the 2024 NFL Draft, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the Raiders take another weapon with the No. 6 overall pick this year, perhaps running back Ashton Jeanty or wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan.

Regardless of who it is, there is no question that Smith will run through a wall for him.
