RawNews is a news site with two desks.
The wire points you at the best reporting anywhere. We read a large number of sources continuously and publish the stories worth your time, with a link straight to the outlet that did the work. We don’t reproduce their articles and we don’t try to keep you here — the headline goes where it says it goes.
The records desk does something different. Every day, federal agencies, courts, and regulators publish documents that almost nobody reads: contract awards, disclosure filings, inspector general reports, court dockets, comment submissions, campaign finance data. Most of it is dull. Some of it is a story. We read the paperwork and write what it actually says.
That’s the whole operation. Someone else’s reporting, clearly credited and linked. Our own reporting, built from documents anyone can check.
What we don’t do
We don’t rewrite other outlets’ articles and publish them as our own. We don’t run AI-generated news. We don’t publish stories we haven’t verified, and when we get something wrong we correct it in public.
Headlines on RawNews are written by us. Where a story involves an arrest, a charge, or an allegation, we write it as an allegation — nobody on this site is guilty of anything until a court says so.
How the wire works
Stories reach the front page through a mix of automated ingestion and human review. Our systems watch a curated list of sources and group coverage of the same story across outlets. An editor decides what runs.
Some routine headlines from sources we trust publish automatically. Anything touching a death, an arrest, a lawsuit, or a single-sourced claim goes to a person first, every time.
Corrections
If we’ve published something inaccurate — in our own reporting or in a headline pointing at someone else’s — tell us at [email protected]. We’ll look at it the same day.
Ownership and funding
RawNews is privately owned. We’re funded by advertising and we have no outside investors or political backers.
Advertising is served programmatically. We don’t control which ads appear, advertisers have no say in what we publish, and no advertiser sees a story before it runs.
