Eagles Insider Names 1 Player ‘Set To Cash In Big Time’

When a team wins the Super Bowl championship, it elevates the profile of its young studs and can put those young players in a position to earn a big payday.

For the Philadelphia Eagles, defensive tackle Moro Ojomo has spent his first two NFL seasons as a backup, but with Josh Sweat gone to the Arizona Cardinals, he is slated to move to defensive end as a starter, which will give him an opportunity to shine this fall.

Eagles reporter Eliot Shorr-Parks posted on X that Ojomo could end up getting a nice payday next offseason when he will be eligible for a contract extension following his third pro season.

“A player set to cash in big time next offseason is DT Moro Ojomo,” Shorr-Parks wrote.

Ojomo, who spent a good deal of his childhood in Nigeria, wasn’t a big-time starter at the University of Texas, but Philly saw enough potential in him to take him in the seventh round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

He got very few snaps as a rookie, but last year, he appeared in all 17 games and posted 20 total tackles (six solo) and five quarterback hits.

In four playoff games this winter, he had seven total tackles (five solo), two tackles for loss and 1.0 sacks as the Eagles won the Vince Lombardi Trophy with a blowout victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX.

They got the job done with arguably the best defense in the league, and maintaining that defense will be one of the biggest keys to their hopes of repeating as world champions.
