Stock Ticker

What are the main events for today?

The main event today was the release of the UK CPI report. The data missed expectations although services inflation remains sticky around 5% which is what the BoE is more concerned with.

Looking ahead, we don’t have much on the agenda today with just the US Durable Goods Orders data as the only highlight. This is a very volatile indicator and therefore rarely market-moving.

We will also hear from more Fed members and get the BoC Meeting Minutes late in the evening.

Central bank speakers:

  • 10:00 GMT/06:00 ET – ECB’s Villeroy (dove – voter)
  • 14:00 GMT/10:00 ET – Fed’s Kashkari (neutral – non voter)
  • 17:10 GMT/13:10 ET – Fed’s Musalem (neutral – voter)
