The West Londoners have it all to do against Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night after going down 5-2 in the French capital while, 24 hours later, Newcastle are in Barcelona having drawn 1-1 with the Liga leaders on Tyneside.
That’s not to downplay the importance of this game. A win would move Chelsea back into the top four – until tomorrow at least – while Newcastle are targeting a top-half finish.
The reverse fixture ended in an entertaining 2-2 draw.
