Real Madrid boss Xabi Alonso remains under huge pressure ahead of Saturday’s game with Sevilla at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Madrid have won their last two games – 2-1 at Alaves in La Liga and 3-2 at third-tier Talavera in the Copa del Rey – but the performances have been far from convincing.

Reports in Spain suggest Alonso is on borrowed time but a strong end to 2025 would undoubtedly strengthen his position.

Sevilla hammered Oviedo in the league last Sunday but were then dumped out of the Copa on Wednesday. They haven’t beaten Madrid since 2018.
