The Green Bay Packers have one of the best running backs in the National Football League. Unfortunately, that hasn’t translated into much success on the ground this season.
Their offensive line has failed to create running lanes, and Josh Jacobs has been hit at or behind the line of scrimmage more often than not. To add insult to injury, he banged his knee on the MetLife Stadium’s infamous turf, and he’s going to miss his first game of the season because of that.
Nevertheless, as tough as things have been for the former Las Vegas Raiders star, Micah Parsons has nothing but positive things to say about him. When asked about Jacob’s impact on the team, the former Dallas Cowboys first-round pick gushed about his leadership:
“Josh always puts the team before himself. It means a lot having one of your leaders on the field knowing what he’s going through. I couldn’t be more happy to be his teammate,” Parsons said of Jacobs.

Jacobs is a true workhorse back. He’s a guy who can be out there in all types of situations, and the type of player who’s always going to push through injury to try and be out there for his team. So, he must be in a lot of pain if Matt LaFleur won’t have him out there to face the Minnesota Vikings.
Still, as tough as that might be for the Packers, it will also be better in the long run. They have another crucial divisional matchup with the Detroit Lions up next, and they need to be as close to 100 percent healthy as possible. Jacobs certainly wanted to be there for his teammates, but sometimes, teams just have to protect their players from themselves.
