Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford is arguably having the best season of his career and is keeping his hopes of returning to the Super Bowl alive and well. He is also a legitimate contender to win NFL MVP.
In fact, the latest odds show how the Rams could notch two major NFL awards.
Stafford is currently the favorite to win MVP, and the Rams are the favorites to win the Super Bowl. However, the competition for both will remain intense as the season goes on.
“The Rams and quarterback Matthew Stafford are having a very big year. Stafford is having the finest season of his NFL career and is currently the betting favorite to win the NFL’s Most Valuable Player award. And the Rams are the betting favorites to win the Super Bowl. The Rams’ current odds to win it all are +550 at DraftKings, with the [Philadelphia] Eagles in second at +600. Stafford’s odds to win MVP are +135, with [New England] Patriots quarterback Drake Maye next at +185,” Michael Daniel Smith wrote.
Winning his first MVP award and his second Super Bowl title would cap a career-defining season for Stafford, who is in his 17th year.
Obviously, Stafford and his Rams are happy to be in this position, but the odds show that the Eagles and Maye won’t make it easy. However, L.A. fans have nothing but faith in their team, especially with how Stafford has been playing.
He has completed 223 of 338 passes with a league-high 27 touchdowns against just two interceptions. No matter how this turns out, Stafford is at the peak of his abilities.
Betting odds don’t always guarantee winners, and a lot can change between now and the end of the campaign. But the Rams and Stafford are having a special season, and no one would be shocked if they wind up as champions with the league MVP.
