The Pittsburgh Steelers have experienced extreme fluctuations in performance over their last two games. They dominated the AFC’s top-seeded Indianapolis Colts in Week 9 before suffering a decisive loss to the fifth-seeded Los Angeles Chargers in Week 10.

The team now sits at 5-4 after starting the season 4-1. Their recent defeat marked both their most lopsided loss and a significant blow to their postseason chances.

“The Steelers chances of making the playoffs dipped from 58% to 32% after Sunday’s loss, according to our model at The Athletic,” Mike DeFabo posted on X.

Pittsburgh’s remaining schedule presents considerable challenges across every matchup. The Steelers face the Cincinnati Bengals, Chicago Bears, Buffalo Bills, Baltimore Ravens, Miami Dolphins, Detroit Lions, Cleveland Browns, and a second meeting with the Ravens before the regular season concludes.

Divisional rivals Cleveland and Cincinnati both pose familiar threats, while Miami enters the second half with renewed offensive momentum after defeating Buffalo in Week 10. The remaining opponents are all competing for playoff positioning, leaving Pittsburgh without any clear advantages down the stretch.

The Steelers currently lead the AFC North but face mounting pressure from division rivals. The Baltimore Ravens have closed within one game of Pittsburgh following an extended winning streak that coincided with Lamar Jackson’s return to the lineup.

Cincinnati also received encouraging news despite sitting at 3-6 and outside the current playoff picture. The Bengals announced that Joe Burrow has returned to practice on a limited basis after his practice window was opened.

While Cincinnati remains a long shot for the postseason, Burrow’s potential return could allow them to stay competitive and impact the divisional standings if they can string together wins in the coming weeks.
