Boutte’s career trajectory changed dramatically this season after a slow start to his professional career.
Through his first 20 games, he recorded just 45 receptions for 608 yards and three touchdowns.
His production has accelerated significantly in year three, with 23 catches for 431 yards and five touchdowns through eight games.
Every touchdown has come on passes traveling at least 15 yards downfield, highlighting his ability to threaten defenses vertically.
His improvement stems from elite speed and consistent work habits that coaches noticed during the offseason program.
Boutte can separate from coverage deep or create positioning for contested opportunities when defenders stay level.
His physicality on difficult catches has made him a reliable target for Drake Maye in critical situations.
The Patriots’ passing attack has exceeded expectations behind Maye’s aggressive approach.
